I spent most of today in El Paso, exploring and waiting to pick up my parents from the airport. It wasn't that great. >.> I haven't done any lojban, and so I should right now. I'm apparently gonna go study russian with Michelle Brown tomorrow. Cool. I also need to pay Benny. I should work a lot 'cause I need the money.

Society's expected relationships

I feel that I have become very cynical lately. As premise for this chain of thoughts, I've never so much as kissed a girl, and I'm somewhat bitter about it. I would assert it's not a function of not being able to bag a chick, but of an unwillingness to do relationships like society expects. I don't like customary relationships. It feels to me like they're not based on affection and loyalty and more based on sex and a desperation for any companionship at all, even by somebody who is only using you symmetrically. I hate that. Symmetry is no excuse for anything. If I like somebody, I am completely available to them in every way, I will sign them with my private PGP key, and I will die on command for them. All the way, no questions. That's the only way to do it. Needless to say, I hardly expect reciprocation of this. That... doesn't happen like that, I could hardly imagine it. It would be a grandiose thing for that to simply exist. But for myself at least, it has not. But that's kind of irrelevant. It's almost good enough to just be able to give myself entirely to another expecting nothing in return. The odd thing is, I am rarely able to even pull that off. I behave in some manner that is so subconsciously creepy, people get hurt by my outright affection for them, _independent of_ behaviour. Or such is my perception. Obviously I'm limited in my ability to objectively percieve my own behaviour, but that's how I feel, and the simple fact that I'd say such a thing must be diagnostic of *something*. So there it is.

Anyways, I've recently realized some things about customary relationships. You don't need to be careful with them; nor do you need to be active with them, depending on the ends you seek. See, the thing is, if you maintain a relationship, *entropy favors sex*. Hot damn. If you don't seek it at all, it's *still* incredulous that you could keep a customary relationship for ten years and not get to see the other naked, and have whatever access to them you please at one point or another. It's awfully tempting to me to abandon hope for affection, which seems impossible to cultivate, in favor of sex and access, which, upon this principal, seem trivial to cultivate. It seems like a kinda good idea...

So: I need a structured way to progress my learning of lojban. I will endeavor to do that using my blogging endeavor. Let's start with a vocabulary list:

gletu - x1 has sex with x2 (Hey, gotta start somewhere, right? Starting with klama or anything of the sort would be useless, 'cause I already know all those words)

The whole ro'a series:

ro'a - social
ro'e - intellectual
ro'i - emotional
ro'o - physical
ro'u - sexual
re'e - spiritual

Let's just do that for now.

Blogging

Blogging seems like a useful endeavor to me for personal purposes. It feels good to write down your thoughts, and put them somewhere where somebody might read them. Ironically, the most noisome bit of blogging is also that someone might read what you write. But it's not good enough to just keep a diary. I suppose the hope is that complete strangers might read it. If somebody you know reads your blog, and you know that, then you have to moderate what you say. Which completely eliminates the cathartic aspect of the endeavor. I should make it a mission to blog at least once a day. Maybe that will help orginize my emotions and thoughts and lead me to achieve my objectives.
